Carole Lynn Davis, 55, of Thurmont died at home on Thursday, August 9, 2018, surrounded by the people who loved her the most. She was the wife of the late Gordon Davis. She is survived by her daughter Megan, who was the love of her life, and her beloved partner of 11 years, Danny Dick.
Carole was born on November 4, 1962 in her favorite city in the world, Philadelphia, PA. She was loved tremendously by her parents, Virginia (Deal) Thomas of Warminster, PA and the late Donald Thomas.
She was a proud graduate of East Stroudsburg University. After graduating, she moved in the Washington, DC area to pursue a career in communications, where she met her late husband, Gordon. They married in 1988. Their daughter, Megan changed their worlds in 1991, and they spent 18 wonderful years, full of laughter and love, until his passing in 2006.
Carole worked as store manager at Banner's Hallmark in Ellicott City for several years. She loved her work family and was extremely proud of career. Many who knew her believed she was destined to work there, as she always had a talent for gift wrapping and giving. Her family would like to extend a special a shout-out to her Hallmark work family for their love and support.
The beach was her happy place, which was made even happier when she was joined by Danny, and her spoiled rotten dog, Missy. The only thing she loved more than the beach, was her Philadelphia sports teams, especially with reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Eagles.
She was loved by every person whose life she touched. Her warm, kind, generous spirit will be deeply missed. Everyone will remember her for her quick sense of humor, intelligence, and charisma.
In addition to Megan and Danny, she is survived by her son in-law, Justin; four step-children, Alicia Smitley, DJ Dick, Jenica Greene and Christopher Wolford; five grandchildren; her sister, Joy Martosella and husband, Peter, of Philadelphia; a brother, James Thomas and wife, Angela; and many nieces and nephews scattered throughout the country, all of which she adored.
She was predeceased by her in-laws, Jill and Harold Davis, and Joyce Marie Dick.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim May.
Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
