Carol Ann Grant Nelson
November 29, 1944 — January 11, 2019
Carol Ann Grant Nelson, 74, formerly of Shenandoah Junction, passed away on January 11, 2019 after a very brief illness. She was the wife of the late Andrew George Nelson for 30 years.
Born on November 29, 1944 in Washington D.C. she was the daughter of the late William Oliver and Roseann (Risano) Allen. Carol completed her Masters Degree in Business Administration from The Naval War College. She worked until her retirement as the Chief Financial Officer for the United States Coast Guard. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, politics and her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her son Kenneth Grant and wife Beth, and grandchildren, Danielle Riley, Maxwell Grant and Emilia Grant.
The family will receive friends from 4-5pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A Celebration of her life’s journey will begin at 5pm. Robert Graff will officiate, with reception immediately following. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
