Carol Ward (Clark) Randle passed away on Saturday, April 20th after a courageous battle with Plasma Cell leukemia. She is survived by her three children: Richard Clark, Carol Lee Embrey, and David Clark and daughters-in-law; Susan and Lagenia Clark. Her grandchildren are Edward and Katie Clark, Matthew and Bryan Embrey, and Justin, Jared, and Alexis Clark. All three of Carol’s children were from her marriage to Richard H. Clark, now deceased, as is her sibling, Lois Flynn and son-in-law, Sumpter Embrey. Carol married again in 1997, to CAPT James P. Randle, USCG (Ret), who survives her. In her youth she was an avid equestrian and animal lover. Carol attended the University of Pennsylvania, served on numerous community organizations and was the editor of the Worman’s Mill homeowners’ newsletter for more than two years. She also served faithfully on several committees there. It was Carol’s love of the joint families that made more than a decade of Clark/Randle annual, week-long family reunions possible with attendees from as far as Texas. Carol loved opera music, the theater, traveling, and gardening and was pleased to help in All Saint’s Church’s Memorial Garden. Throughout her life, her love of traveling took her across the United States and to Europe, Africa, and the Pacific. Carol was a marvelous cook, a wonderful companion, and a gracious hostess. She had the deeply devoted love and affection of her expanded Randle/Clark family. A very generous and compassionate lady, Carol was a lady of grace and poise and will be deeply missed by all her knew her. And without a doubt, she was a spirited patriot of America. Flowers are welcome as are contributions to All Saints Episcopal Church and her favorite charities, Wounded Warriors, woundedwarriorsproject.org and the Days End Farm, Horse Rescue, 1372 Woodbine Rd., Woodbine, MD. Funeral arrangements have been made with the Stauffer’s Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick and a Visitation is scheduled for 7-9 pm on Monday, April 22nd. Her funeral will be in All Saints Episcopal Church, 106 W. Church St. in Frederick at 2 pm Tuesday, April 23rd followed by a reception at the church. Graveside services will be private the next day at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
