Mrs. Carol T. Mertz, 79, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Church of the Brethren Home in New Oxford, PA. She was the wife of the late Charles C. Mertz.
Born August 31, 1935 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter Oliver and Myrtle Evelyn Witte Thomas.
Mrs. Mertz was employed, for many years, at Smythe Jewelers in Baltimore. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Frederick and enjoyed sewing and going on cruises.
Carol is survived by two sisters Evelyn Steirer of Hanover, PA and Shirley Lisek of Towson, MD. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She will especially be remembered by a special niece Dawn Scherer.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick Thursday, March 26, from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm, where services will be held Friday, March 27, at 11:00 am with Rev. Lloyd Fuss officiating.
Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
