Mrs. Carol Ann Burriss, 56 of Brunswick passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of James Burris. They were married for 38 years.
Born September 19, 1954 in Frederick she was the daughter of Betty Jane Fogle of Frederick and the late Charles M. Gilbert.
Carol was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
She retired from BP Solar. She enjoyed sewing, reading and shopping.
In addition to her husband and mother she is also survived by two sons, James A. Burriss, Jr and Billy L. Burriss both of Brunswick, a brother, Charles Gilbert and wife Jessica of Frederick, two sisters, Tammy Stanbaugh and husband David of Keymar and Kathy Gilbert of Hagerstown. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her step father Gilbert Fogle.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 4
th
at 11:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church, 2212 Jefferson Pike, Knoxville, MD with Pastor Ed Jordan officiating.
Entombment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
