Carol Barnhard

Mrs. Carol C. Barnhard, 83, of Frederick (formerly of Rockville, Md), died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Sunrise Assisted Living. She was the loving wife of the late Charles "Buddy" L. Barnhard, who died in 2008.
Born January 20, 1932 in Montague, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rose (Phelps) Councilman.
Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and spent many summers camping with her boys.
She is survived by four sons, Bruce Barnhard and wife, Eileen, of Middletown; Brian Barnhard and wife, Christy, of Frederick; Barry Barnhard of Harpers Ferry, WV; and Brett Barnhard and wife, Tricia, of Damascus; eight grandchildren; a brother, Lewie Councilman of Massachusetts; and two sisters, Ellie Sousane of Keedysville, and Thurley Piermarini of Massachusetts.
Carol was predeceased by a son, Blair W. Barnhard, who died in 1969.
She leaves behind friends from Elks Lodges #684 and #1359, American Legion Posts 86 and 11, and Sunrise of Frederick.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where a memorial service will begin at 2 p.m.
Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
