Carnell “Pete” Snow Jr., 70, of Williamsport (formerly Germantown), Maryland, passed away on April 20, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center. He was the husband of Elaine Estella (Hamilton) Snow.
“Snowman” or “Pretty Ricky”, as he was fondly known, was born on April 16, 1948 in Huntington, WV, he was the son of Carnell Snow Sr., the late Martha Sorrell, and Kathryn Snow.
Carnell was a graduate of Huntington High School, where he played football. Carnell served in and retired from the United States Army, where he was a drill sergeant and recruiter. He was most recently employed at MD State Highway Administration as a Resident Maintenance Engineer where he had retired in 2014 after 23 years of outstanding service. He loved his job and was a father figure and mentor to many.
Throughout his life, he had formed many long lasting relationships. To know him was to love him. He was a die-hard Redskins fan that enjoyed fishing trips with “his boys”. He would say on his way out the door “Baby, I’m coming home with Moby Dick”!
Guaranteed to get best dressed to any event, he was always immaculate and smelling good even when he wasn’t leaving the house. As one of his friends would say, “he was always sharp as a tack, even on a Tuesday”! Memories of his smile and beaming personality will be treasured by his family and friends. Although he will be greatly missed, he has left a part of himself with each and every one of us with great memories.
He leaves to cherish his legacy, his wife of 45 years, Elaine Snow; his children, Inga Kennedy ( Marcus), Carnell Snow III (Ashley), Rodney Hamilton, and David Allen; seven grandchildren, Sean, Josh, Kavon, Jeremy, Maia, Jared, and Laila; great grandchild Sean III; his siblings, Doris Barrow, Joan Ball (Earl), Henry “Tommy” Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many caring friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10-11am, at Poolesville Baptist Church, 17550 W Willard Road, Poolesville, MD 208737. A Celebration of his life will begin at 11am at the church with a repass to follow.
