Mr. Carlyle Marvin (CM) Sole, Sr., 96, formerly of Frederick, died peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in St. Mary's County. He was the loving husband of 61 years to the late Anna Bell Sole, who predeceased him in 1999.
Born November 28, 1917 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Alva and Lola Boston Sole.
Mr. Sole was owner/operator of the Urbana General Store from 1954-1979. He was an active sports enthusiast and spent much of his time coaching the Frederick County Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion baseball teams. He also coached in the Frederick City Midget League football program.
A WWII veteran, Mr. Sole was a lifetime member of the American Legion FSK Post #11.
He is survived by two sons, CM (Deetl') Jr., and wife, Jacqueline, and James Christopher (Chris) and wife, Ann; four grandchildren, Lee Ann Ewing (Ed), Kimberly Bridgman (Kimo), Jim Sole, Jr., and Eric Sole (Kim); four great-grandchildren, Blair Hulsey, Drew Hulsey, McKenna Bridgman, and Alexis Sole; and his special friend, Ruthie Rye.
Graveside services will begin at noon on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market St., Frederick. Those attending should assemble by 11:50 a.m. near the FSK Chapel at the cemetery.
