Mrs. Carla E. Dick, 69 of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She the beloved companion of Gerald Powell for ten years.
Born May 11, 1943 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Pauline Remsburg Studebaker.
Carla was a member of the Fairfield AMVETS Post #172 and the Loyal Order of the Moose #1191 in Waynesboro. She served a number of years with the AMVETS Post #2 and four years as Maryland Department of AMVETS President. She was a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan and NASCAR, especially Richard Petty. Carla loved her white German shepherd “Taisia” , traveling with Gerry and flowers.
She is survived by her children Brenda Leith of Frederick and Dwayne Doody, Sr and companion Robin Weadon of Boonsboro, step-son Jeffrey Powell and companion Diana Stull, Carla’s ex-husband Thomas Doody, grandchildren Dwayne T. Doody, Brandon E. Doody, Emily N. Doody, Chris Weadon and wife Alicia, Amanda Weadon, Jason E. Leith and companion Chrissie, Tayna R. Brown and Misty N. Murphy, Ten great grandchildren, siblings Charles Studebaker, Gene Goodsell, Alberta Johnson, Buster Studebaker, Richard Oden, John Lawson, Bonnie Boone, Donald Oden and Cynthia Spradlin. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She will be remembered by her special friends June Anders and family , Maryann Kolb, Robin Myers, Vicky Warner and Star Athena. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Arnold Leith.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD on Friday, September 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Saturday, September 22, at 11:00 am. Pastor Mike Albro will officiate.
Interment Blue Ridge Cemetery.
