Mr. Calvin Eugene Weishaar, 86, of Frederick, MD passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born April 13, 1926, in Mt. Airy, MD, he was the son of the late John W. and Elsie L. (Runkles) Weishaar.
Mr. Weishaar was a WWII Veteran, having proudly served in the U.S. Army. After his service in the Army he worked as a used car salesman, and later owned and operated his own used car business known as Calvin's Auto Sales. Calvin loved music and playing the guitar, formed his own band and played several clubs in his earlier years. He also enjoyed building new homes. Calvin bought and sold 15 homes all in Frederick Co. He also sponsored many basketball and softball teams. Calvin was a member of the Democrat Club and the AMVETS Post #2 and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen V. (Summers) Weishaar; son Jimmy E. Weishaar and wife Nancy; grandson Vincent C. Weishaar; sister Rubbie L. Blentlinger; nephew Jerry W. Blentlinger and several cousins.
He is preceded in death by his sister Kathleene V. Weishaar.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 6-8 PM where services will be held on Monday, June 18 at 11 AM. Rev. Tim May will officiate.
Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery.
