Calvin Eugene Smith

Mr. Calvin “Pete” Smith, 77, of Boonsboro, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 at home. 

Born November 16, 1946. He was the son of the late Harry Wilson Smith, Sr. and Rosalie Biddinger Smith. 

He was a dedicated employee of Rudy’s Trucking for 39 years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Frederick Moose, Redman’s Club and Eagles. 

Pete is survived by his son, Richard Smith and friend, Kelly Zimmerman; his daughter, Kelly Wood and husband, George; and one granddaughter, Amanda Wood. He will be dearly missed by Stephanie Marcum who was like a daughter to him; and his close friend, Jerry Walters. He is survived by siblings, Wayne, Robert, Paul, Ronald, Rebecca Russell, Martha Smith and Sharon Martin. 

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harry Smith, Jr., Joseph, Wilbur, James, Patricia Barnes, Joanne Osborne and Beverly Smith. 

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital in his name.
