Calvin Lee, Jr.

Calvin R. Lee, Jr., 67, of Montgomery Village, MD passed away on June 29, 2018 at Holy Cross Hospital.

Calvin was born November 5, 1950 in Washington, D.C. to the late Calvin R. Lee, Sr. and Vivian (Scott) Lee. Calvin grew up in Frederick and Montgomery Counties where he attended Frederick and Gaithersburg High Schools. Calvin played football at Frederick High School until an injury ended his time on the field. Upon transferring to Gaithersburg High, Calvin met his former spouse, Gretchen (Phillips) Lee. Calvin and Gretchen raised their two daughters, Michelle and Christina, together.

Calvin loved working with his hands both at work and in his free time. He could fix or build anything. He was the go to "jack of all trades". Calvin put his gift to fix things to work after high school and began his life long career of as a Maintenance Engineer. He was first employed by Housing Management and later worked for Grady Management for 12 years. Calvin recently retired after working for Kenwood Condominiums for 26 years.

Calvin and his long time partner of over thirty years, Nedra McCann, were planning their retirement years together when then Lord called him home.

Calvin enjoyed so many different things and had a number of hobbies over the years ~ bowling, racing cars, disco music, collecting model cars and coins to name a few ~ but what he enjoyed and loved more than anything was his family, the immediate, extended and adopted.

He is survived by his long time partner, Nedra McCann, his two daughters, Michelle Hunter Green (Christopher) of Adamstown and Christina Lee of Frederick. He also leaves to mourn Kurtrinna Smith (Ronald) of Clarksburg; Keisha McCann of Germantown; his brothers, Byron Foreman (Marilyn) of Frederick and Bradford Lee of Germantown; stepmother, Viola Lee Carroll of Frederick; stepsisters, Tangela Bridges of Baltimore and Trudy Lyles (Timothy) of Frederick. Calvin is also survived by his granddaughters, Jazmin Hunter, Kayla Green and Kennedy Smith; great grandchildren, Aaniyah Ponyard and Peyton Hammond; former wife, Gretchen Lee, two sisters-in-law, Lilith Gray and Shirley Foreman, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calvin was predeceased by his parents, Calvin R. Lee, Sr. and Vivian Scott Lee. Three brothers, Charles Gray, Thomas Foreman and Wayne Brown; and granddaughter, Ashley Smith.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 1-2PM where a funeral service will begin at 2PM.

Interment will be private.
