Burt Monath
January 23, 1963 — June 13, 2017
Loving husband and father, Burt Franklin Monath Sr, died June 13th 2017 in a motorcycle accident. Burt was an avid player of slot machines and loved going to the Charlestown casino, which he frequented with his wife, Wilma "Dee" Monath. He also loved video games, watching movies, reading Stephen King novels and riding his motorcycle on a warm, sunny day. Burt was employed by Rocko Meats Inc. in Thurmont, MD for approximately 25 years.
Burt is survived by his wife, Wilma "Dee" Monath of 29 years; along with his son, Burt Monath, Jr.; and two daughters, Margaret Monath and Betty Lee. Along with mother, Margaret Monath. Extended family includes: grandson, Hayden Wayne Davis and granddaughter, Hyla Shy Davis and Margaret’s significant other, Joey Davis. Other surviving family includes: Shirl Sharrah and significant other, David Horner. Burt’s brothers, Bill Monath and Earl Monath and Bill’s son, Joshua. Also, survived by additional grandchildren: Rebecca Jukes and her husband, Michael and their son, Oliver Jukes. Along with Tonya Owens, another grandchild, her husband Donald, and their three sons Luke, Damian and Joshua. In addition to, step-daughter, Diane Cool and her husband, Timothy Cool.
