Bruce Alfred Pierce, 84, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.
Born on July 13, 1928, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Lee Felia and Dorothy Helen (Graves) Pierce.
He was inducted into the United States Army in 1951. Until 1953, he served at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center as a Surgical Technician.
Bruce retired from The Review Herald Publishing Association. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 378. He was also a member of the Boonsboro Historical Society.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris E. (Tipton) Pierce of Hagerstown; one daughter, Judith Lynn Pierce of Hagerstown; and one brother, Charles Pierce of Sorrento, Florida.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtude Michaelis and Helen Moyers Trinkner.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Willow Brook Seventh-day Adventist Church, 8916 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, Maryland.
