Mr. Bruce William Kunze 61, of Mount Airy, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his residence. He was the loving companion of Mary Lou Day.
Born on December 9, 1952, he was the son of the late Robert William and Pearl Benson Kunze. Bruce owned and operated Bruce's Precision Welding and Machine in Mt. Airy for the past 30 years. He served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War. Bruce was a champion marksman and a member of the Isaac Walton League Gun Club in Mt Airy and thus loved hunting with his dogs. He also enjoyed working on cars especially hot rods and muscle cars.
Surviving in addition to Mary Lou are children: Rebekah Stubbs and husband David, Kelly Wolfe and husband Dan, Carly Kunze and Downey Day; grandchildren: Michael Stubbs, Heather Stubbs, Meghan Stubbs, Libby Wolfe and Levi Wolfe; brothers: Dale Kunze and wife Karen, and Brian Kunze; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, October 6, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy where a funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 7.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
