It is with great sadness that Brooke Danielle Riley, 25, of Middletown, MD passed from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Born June 4, 1994 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of Stephanie Clary Riley and the late Derek A. Riley. Brooke was a 2012 graduate of Middletown High School, a 2016 graduate of Radford University with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, and a 2019 graduate from Frederick Community College with an associate’s degree in Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at Meritus Medical Center on 4 east the intermediate care unit.
Brooke enjoyed life to the fullest by spending time with family and friends. She loved being at her beach house on Chincoteague Island, singing, shopping endlessly, cooking, swimming, riding dirt bikes, showing her 4-H horses, and her Harley motorcycle. Brooke spent her last moments riding her Harley with her second dad, Alan Virts.
She was a very special daughter, sister, and friend. Brooke was loved by many and will be deeply missed. She had a special touch with all of her patients and would move mountains for anyone. Brooke spent many hours volunteering at Radford University as an EMT.
In addition to her mother, Stephanie, and her friend, Rob Weltner, Brooke is survived by her brother Devon “Butters” Riley, of Middletown, and his friend, Taylor Long; her grandparents, Jesse and Becky Clary of Keedysville and Frank and Barbara Riley of Myersville; her uncle, Mike Clary and wife, Tara, of Knoxville and aunt Kim Riley of Myersville; her cousins, Randy Eury, Brandon Riley, and Jesse Clary; and Robs children, Bobby and Dalton Weltner of Marydel, MD.
Brooke will be remembered by her special friends, Nick Rodgers, Brianna “Cornfed” Scott, Nicole “Nackle” DeRemer, Jessie “Boots” Rowe, Allie “T Mcgee” Bates, Rachel “VP” Kaufman; and her dog, Dasey Mae.
She was preceded in death by father, Derek Riley; John and Ella Riley, Bill and Garnetta Corum, Jesse and Myrtle Clary, Harry and Elsie Wood; and many other aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday November 5, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday November 6th at the funeral home. Lieutenants Chris and Carla Raymer will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring to contribute to assist with funeral expenses may send donations to Stephanie Riley, Post Office Box 1274, Middletown, MD 21769.
Pallbearers include: Devon Riley, Nick Rodgers, Kalvin Kline, Jamie Wright, Bryan Wiles, Corey Brigham, Brandon Horseman, Jason Burrier; and serving as honorary pallbearers are Frank Riley, Jesse Clary, Jr, Michael Clary, and Jesse Clary.
