Mr. Brian Wayne Williar, 52, of Boonsboro, lost his greathearted battle with cancer on November 1, 2008, one day short of his 53rd birthday. He will be greatly missed by his wife and soul mate, Renee Williar.
Born on November 2, 1955 he was the son of the late Doris (Moore) and Wayne Williar.
A 1973 graduate of Catoctin High School, Brian received his Associate Degree from Frederick Community College. He served in the US Army from 1977 through 1981 and during that time was honored as part of the Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery.
Brian began his career as a police officer with the Frederick City Police. He joined the Frederick County Sheriff's Office where he obtained the rank of Captain after serving nearly twenty years. While with the Sheriff's Department he attended the FBI National Academy and was a member of the Special Services Team.
Brian most recently was an active Deputy Chief with the town of Thurmont Police Department.
Brian enjoyed the miracle of nature and was an avid reader. He served as a scout leader influencing numerous boys as a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Brian mostly enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Brian was a warm, gentle spirit who touched the lives of many people. All who were fortunate to have known him will miss him.
Besides his wife, survivors include his four sons; David Williar and wife Katie of Dover, PA, Jamison Williar and wife Tammy of Walkersville, MD, Scott Williar, US Army, stationed in La Grange Oregon, and Liam Burch of Boonsboro; his two grandchildren, Cameron and Savannah; his sister Lynne Seeders and husband Tim of Fort Ashby, WV; his brother Greg Williar and wife Lisa of Lovettsville, VA.
Brian will also be remembered by his loving Aunt Libby, Uncles Donnie and Jackie Moore and his steadfast nephew Michael Perry.
His beloved grandparents, Claude and Mary Moore, preceded Brian in death.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, MD.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5th at 1:00 PM in the Middletown United Methodist Church 7108 Fern Circle, Middletown, MD, with Rev. Dr. Susan R. Halse officiating. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
