Brett Michael Ensor was born on July 5, 1990 in Boca Raton, Florida and resided in South Bend, Indiana. He is survived by his parents, Ronald and Kathy Abramowicz Ensor of Rockwall, Texas and sister, Breanne Ensor of Abingdon, Maryland; his grandparents, Barbara Troy Ensor and the late William Edgar Ensor Jr. of Ashton, Maryland, and Stanley E. Abramowicz and the late Mary Posick Abramowicz of Henniker, New Hampshire, beloved aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceeded in death by his cousin, Steven Abramowicz.

Brett was an accomplished musician and grew up in Heath, Texas. He was a 2008 graduate of Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas where he was heavily active in theater, student government, National Honors Society, and sports. He earned a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo and was an instructor in the American Taekwondo Association. Brett served as a youth member of the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Parish Council in Rockwall, Texas, as well as a summer camp counselor for The Pines Catholic Camp.

Brett was a 2012 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering, and in 2013 earned a Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Science, and Technology Entrepreneurship at the University of Notre Dame. He was a 2013 Fellow with enFocus, Inc. in South Bend, Indiana. Brett was a campus tour guide and had the privilege of reading for Father Hesburgh. His passion was all things related to the University of Notre Dame Marching Band. He played saxophone in the Marching Band from 2009 to 2012 and was a Core Band Member in 2012. Brett was the recipient of the Gerald J. Smith Memorial Award for community service and the Shamrock Award. He also participated in the Basketball and Hockey Bands, Symphonic Band, University Band, Fall Concert Band, Saxophone Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Horn Ensemble where he played the French horn. Brett was the Marching Band Librarian from 2010 to 2012. After graduation, he served as the Director of the Saxophone Ensemble from 2014 to 2017, and was a Marching Band Staff Volunteer. He will be remembered as always smiling and bringing happiness into their lives.

Brett was employed as the Corporate Project Manager by Conn-Selmer, Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana, the largest musical instrument manufacturer in the U.S. He was awarded the highest distinction by the Drucker Forum of Europe for his innovative contributions to management thinking.

He touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a loving son, a sister's best friend, a caring boyfriend, and a very special person to many and will be missed tremendously.

A Funeral Mass for Brett will take place at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.

A Memorial Funeral Mass for Brett will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 12:00 noon at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, 8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702.
