Brenda Jane Windon

Mrs. Brenda Jane Windon , 70 of Frederick died at her home near Urbana on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 after a long illness.

Born April 1, 1939 in the West Virginia hills near St. George, in a house built by her dad.

She was the first child of Woodrow (Bill) and Ruth Spessert.

She met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Windon at Unidis High School. In addition to her husband Bob of 53 years she is survived by two beloved sons, Rick Windon and his wife Pam of Damascus and Scott Windon and his wife Robin of Myersville. There are five precious grandchildren, Jessica Windon, Nathan Windon, Rosco Windon, Zeke Windon and Cheyenne Windon.

She is also survived by two loving siblings, her sister, Carol Snyder and husband Jim of Hanover, PA and her brother, Larry Spessert and wife Gail of Frederick and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a few aunts and uncles.

Brenda worked more than twenty-five years for the National Geographic Society, then took an early retirement to enjoy life. She liked reading, art, working with stained glass, Broadway shows, gardening, word puzzles, taking classes, Fountain View Community Church and especially spending time with those she loved.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, December 4, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 PM.

Services: Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Guy Kneebone of Mountain View Community Church officiating.
Interment will be in Clustered Spires Cemetery.
