Mrs. Brenda Speak,55 , of Thurmont, MD went to be with Christ on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of James Speak, her husband of 34 years.

Born on February 13, 1958 in Frederick, MD she was the only daughter of Barbara Stottlemyer of Thurmont, MD.

Mrs. Speak was full of life and looked forward to all the times she spent with her partner in crime, dog Sheba.  She enjoyed cooking and starting to teach her oldest granddaughter how to bake.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  Brenda was a past member of the Guardian hose company ladies auxillary.  She was a Sunday School teacher at Trinity United Church of Christ for many years.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her daughter Kimberly Larson and husband Eric of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren Rachael, Katelyn, Debbie, Wesley, Leanne and Erica, Uncle Kenneth Hubbard and wife Ruth of Thurmont, Aunt Mary Hill and husband Lee of Thurmont, Aunt Evie Holt of Thurmont and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Christina Mae Speak, grandparents Raymond and Alta Hubbard, Aunt Doie and Uncle Junior Manaham, Uncle Charlie Holt and Mother-in-law Helen Dawson.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 6-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3 at 11AM.  Rev. Sean Delawder will officiate.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ, 101 Main St., Thurmont, MD 21788 in memory of Brenda Speak.
