Mrs. Brenda T. McDade, 64, of Mt. Airy, died Friday, September 27, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of Martin McDade. They were married 15 years.
Born January 22, 1949 in Amarillo, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Lynn and Oleta Ray.
Brenda was a registered dietician, as well as a professor at Howard Community College in Maryland. Brenda also enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her step-son, William Tompkins of Maryland; two step-daughters, Diane Ruckert of Maryland; and Donna Hughes of California; her brother, Johnny Ray of Texas; and her sisters, Cheryl Ray, Deanne Dark, Patti Holcomb, and JoBeth Taylor all of Texas.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 .m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD 21771. Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Lloyd officiating.
Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Rockville, MD.
