Brenda Edwards

Brenda Lee (Gatrell) Edwards, 60, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, October 19, 2014.
Born on February 21, 1954, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she is the daughter of Doris J. (Getridge) Gatrell of Sharpsburg, and the late Floyd E. Gatrell.
Brenda attended the Boonsboro High School.
She was retired from Eastalco in Frederick, Maryland.
Brenda was a special soul who gave unconditionally of herself to her family, friends, and to people in need. She held a special place in her heart for the elderly and often would visit at local nursing homes. Brenda was especially fond of animals and in particular would be a helping hand to any animal in need. She was a dedicated caretaker for her mother, with whom she shared a special bond throughout her life. She had also helped care for her uncle, Richard Marshall, throughout his long illness. She was an angel watching over her sister, Diana, following the loss of her daughter, Jessica; always knowing the right time to call and offer her caring heart. Brenda will be deeply missed by her family and her friends, and they will hold dear in their memories Brenda's passion for thrift shopping and antiquing.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Brian K. Webber, of Sharpsburg; her daughter, Brooke D. Tarmon, of Sharpsburg; two sisters, Linda K. Burker and husband Larry of Sharpsburg, and Diana L. Nave and her partner Mike Habel, of Keedysville, Maryland; and her two grandchildren, Madison and Chase Tarmon. She is also survived by her best friend Kim Schwartz of Sharpsburg; her neighbor and friend of many years, Lily Grayson of Sharpsburg; her god son, Michael L. Burker, Jr. of Sharpsburg; and her special nephew Matthew Nave, as well as her other nieces and nephews, with all of whom she shared a special relationship.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Delancy L. Catlett will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the funeral home.
