Blondena Good

June 6, 1924 — November 22, 2013

Blondena Susan Mowry Good passed away unexpectedly from a fall at her home on
November 22, 2013. She was born June 6, 1924 in Petersburg, WV to the late Mamie
Bean and James W. Mowry. She was married to the Roland (Pete) Lewis from
Petersburg, WV from 1941 until his passing in 1972. In 1976, she found love again and
married Frank Good, an engineer with the B&O railroad in Brunswick. Frank and
Blondena traveled throughout the United States and Europe during their marriage until
his death in 1994.

Blondena worked as a telephone operator in Washington, D.C. while her first husband,
Pete, was in the navy. She retired as cashier of the Acme store in Brunswick after 28
years.

Blondena was happiest surrounded by her treasured family and friends. She leaves to
cherish her memories many loving family members including her niece, Loberta Staley
and her husband, Harold, Thurmont, MD; and their children, Bryan Dinkle and wife
Marguerite and their daughter, Sarah Dinkle; Brenda Dinkle- Wright and her husband,
Jeff, and their children Bailey Rae Wright and Alexandra Lea Wright, all of Frederick,
MD; Mark and Anita Staley and their children Anna, Luke and Michael of Johnsville,
MD; and Daniel Staley, Emmitsburg, MD and his children Joe Staley and his wife
Amanda, Gettysburg, PA, and George Staley, Kemar, MD.

She spent every holiday and many special events at the home of her niece, Loberta, and
family. She also enjoyed going out to dinner with her niece Anna Lee Bryan and her
family. She could always count on her loving nephew, Daniel Bryan and his son Chad,
to help her with outdoor chores. Her niece, Yvonne Roderick and her family were also a
joy to her.

Blondena is also survived by many special nieces and nephews, countless great nieces
and nephews, and several great, grand nieces and nephews whom she loved. She is also
survived by her brother-in-law, Maurice Good of Westminster, and many other family
members from the Mowry, Lewis and Good families.

She loved living in the Brunswick/Knoxville area where she had so many friends.
Some of her special friends included Nancy Merriman, Charles Town, WV; Wanda
Zombro, Brunswick and the breakfast/lunch group that met at McDonalds and Roy
Rogers; Betty Hale, Lovettsville, VA; and her wonderful neighbor Nancy Virts.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by eight siblings including
her sister, Pauline Bryan, who resided in Knoxville, MD.

Her wonderful laughter will be missed, but her warmth and giving ways will forever
reside in our hearts. With her sudden passing, her family is reminded of the uncertainty
of life and that her life is one to be celebrated. She will forever remain in our hearts, and
we encourage those who loved her to honor her memory by not letting a day go by
without openly expressing their love for family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick, Maryland on Monday, November 25, from 4 – 8:00 pm, where services will be held Tuesday, November 26, at 11:00 am with Rev. Tim May officiating.

Interment will be in the Brownsville Church of the Brethren with a fellowship
immediately following at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the church at
1911 Rohrersville Road, Knoxville, MD 21758.
