Mrs. Blanche Hofflinger, 94, of Walkersville, MD, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard J. Hofflinger.
Born on May 21, 1922, in Rising Sun, DE, she was the fourth of six siblings of the late James and Flora Smith Burris.
She worked for RCA in Camden, NJ as part of the WWII war effort. She later worked and retired from J.C. Penney. Many of her years were dedicated as a homemaker and to raising her family in Barrington, NJ. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Barrington, NJ. After retirement she relocated to Humble, TX to be closer to family. While in Humble she worked at Humble Area Assistance Ministries, a faith based organization, which helps community residents in crisis. She later relocated to Walkersville, MD for health reasons. She was a gentle and caring person with a strong faith and love of the Lord. She touched many lives in her journey often sharing her faith and never failing to love her neighbor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, son Howard Jr., grandson Jesse, great-grandson James, and all her siblings.
She is survived by her son David and wife Cindy of Walkersville; grandchildren Jonathan and wife Carrie of Braddock Heights, James and wife Flora of Walkersville, Amira and husband David of Wilmington, DE, Christian of Kingwood, TX; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.
Interment will be private.
