Billy G. Stroupe, 70 of Knoxville, MD died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Ina Stroupe. They were married for 45 years.
Born April 26, 1936 in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Walter and Marion Stroupe.
He owned Stroupe's Service Station in Knoxville, MD. He was a Lifetime Member of the Brunswick Ambulance and Fire Company. He was also a member of the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club, the Masonic Lodge, The Elks, The Moose Club, The Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles all in Brunswick.
In addition to his wife Ina, he is survived by three brothers, Bobby Stroupe of Matheny, West Virginia , Don Stroupe of Beckley, West Virginia and Johnny Canoy Stroupe of Lakeland, Florida. He will also be remembered by his special friends, John and Sharon Thompson and Carrie Mallory., other family members and a large extension of friends.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, Vance Stroupe, James Stroupe and Paul Stroupe, two sisters, Helen Lusk and Marjorie Green.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick on Friday, February 23, 2007 from 6:00-9:00 PM where the Masonic Rights will be at 7:30 PM.
Services:
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Frank E. Fortkamp officiating.
Interment will be in Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Bolen, John Payne, Wayne Smith, George Frye, Tomy Hammond and Dave Hirt.
