Ms. Billie Longerbeam Fawley, 80, of Brunswick, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years James Fawley.

Billie was born on September 21, 1941 in Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late Heyward and Cleo Longerbeam and was predeceased by her sister, Yonnie Longerbeam; all of Brunswick.

She is survived by two daughters, Jimma Fawley & wife Debra Carter of Spring Hill, FL and Jeana Harmon of Martinsburg, WV. She is also survived by grandson James Harmon and wife Ashley, great granddaughter Emma Harmon, Matthew Strong & Trenton Strong of Brunswick MD and grandson Cody Harmon and wife Angel and great grandson Michael Harmon of Colorado Springs, CO.

The family would also like to acknowledge Billie’s very special friends Denny Moore, Shirley Cooper and Shirley Shores for all their kindness, caring and support over the years.  

Billie was truly a “Brunswick girl” through and through and lived almost all of her life within the same 2 block radius in Brunswick. Even when she went on vacation she couldn’t wait to get back home to Brunswick.  She was a lifelong active member of the First Baptist Church in Brunswick. She spent a good portion of her life as a homemaker however she managed the Brunswick swimming pool for several summers and was employed at National Geographic in Gaithersburg, Md. in her later years. She loved going to Ocean City, Md. to spend time with friends and was well known for her amazing baking skills!

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick, MD.

The celebration of Billie's life will then take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Brunswick Stauffer Funeral Homes.  

Interment will be private.
