Billie Roberta Buckles, 91, of Frederick passed away on December 17, 2019 at Glade Valley Nursing Home, Walkersville, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on December 1, 1928 in Elizabethton, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Edward Leonard and Rocie Price Clark. Billie was the wife of the late Jack Hayward Buckles for 63 years.
Surviving are her daughter Lydia Buckles Talley and her husband Bill, grandchildren Jason Talley and wife Sheena, Jordan Talley and wife Brittany, Jonathan Buckles and wife Lauren, Elizabeth Deck and husband Wiley; great-grandchildren Mason Talley, Alayna Talley, Avery Talley, Skylar Talley, Brenton Buckles, Madeline Buckles, Catherine Buckles, Elizabeth Buckles, Emilia Deck, Ensley Deck, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brothers, Louie Clark, Benjamin Clark, and sister, Betty Green. She was predeceased by two sons, James Hayward Buckles and Tony Jack Buckles, and by three brothers, Tony Clark, Bruce Clark, Robert Clark, and a sister, Norman Jean Clark.
Billie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful southern cook and loved to crochet. At age 85, she became interested in acrylic painting, a new found talent. She presented each family member and numerous special friends with her artwork, which included subjects that were meaningful for each person. A special thank you to Elaine for introducing Billie to painting and spending time with her every Thursday.
She was a member of Grace Community Church, formerly the First Christian Church in Frederick for many years and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
The family would like to thank the staff of Glade Valley and Heartfields for their kindness and outstanding support with special appreciation to Stacey for her loving and compassionate care she provided to Billie.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20 at Stauffer Funeral Home on Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland. Funeral services and interment will be private.
