Beverly Jean Shipley, age 67, of Damascus, MD, passed away on March 25, 2013, at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Maurice Linwood Shipley.
Born on August 13, 1945, in Frederick she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Stella Runkles Allnutt.
Beverly graduated from Damascus High School, Class of 1963. She worked for the Department of the Navy from 1964 to 1978, and then worked at the Montgomery United Methodist Children’s Center preschool for over 20 years. Beverly was also an Avon representative since the late 1970s. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed going to auctions and antiquing with her husband and was known for her many coordinating shoes, earrings and jewelry. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of the Montgomery United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters Linda J. Smith Vincent and husband John and Dawn L. Greeves and husband David of Frederick. Grandchildren, Austin, Hannah, Jackie and Emma. She will also be remembered by Ann M. Virts who was like a third daughter to her.
She was predeceased by her half-brother, Raymond Edward Allnutt and wife Elsie Allnutt.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 1, 2013, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy, MD. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday April, 2, 2013, at Montgomery United Methodist Church, 28325 Kemptown Road, Damascus, MD 20872. Rev. Wade Martin and Bud Kibbe will officiate. Interment will follow in the Montgomery United Methodist Cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Beverly's name to Montgomery United Methodist Church.
