Beverly A. Phillips

Beverly A. Phillips, 74, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Silverado Frederick Memory Care Community in Frederick, MD. She was the loving wife of Bruce A. Phillips, whom she married in 1970.

Born on January 12, 1950, in Bucyrus, OH, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Stansbery and Alma Jean (Clark) Stansbery.

She was a 1968 graduate of Mt. Gilead High School. Beverly received her Bachelor's Degree (Cum Laude) from Ohio State University, and a Master's Degree from Western Maryland University. She had a life-long career as a beloved elementary school teacher, predominantly at Urbana Elementary.

Beverly was a member of the Church of God, and the National Teachers Association. She enjoyed listening to and playing music, gardening, playing tennis, baking (especially Christmas cookies), and most of all, spending time with family, most particularly her grandbabies.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Bruce A. Phillips, II and wife, Gail; daughter, Heather Nicole Demory and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Jenna and husband, Waylon; Erica, Jacob, and Elizabeth; great-grandson, Camden; and siblings, Steve and wife, Patti, and Tami and husband, William.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A celebration of Beverly's life will begin at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
