Beverly Kines

May 24, 1948 — August 8, 2016

Mrs. Beverly W. Kines 68, of Monrovia, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 8th at her home.

Beverly was the wife of the late Michael Richard Kines, who had declared her "the best woman in the world." Theirs was a true fairy tale love story that expands through time and eternity.

Born May 24, 1948 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Ralph Edgar Woltz II and Inez Monson. Beverly grew up in Rogers Heights, MD but had made Monrovia her home for 42 years.

Beverly was known best for her kindness and care towards others. She loved abundantly, forgave freely, and was known for her gentleness. She was dignified, poised and often shy woman but she could always be counted on for a listening ear and giving wise advice. She found great joy in caring for her husband, mother, children, sisters, brothers and others. She was firm in her faith and convictions, yet she never judged or spoke ill of others.

She was touched by the simple things in life but most importantly the joy of being with her family. She was known to tell her children that she had the best job in the world, being their mom. She was crazy about her grandchildren and loved to share in all their happenings whether it was going out to eat together, watching basketball games, or practicing math times tables. She was proud of each and every thing they did. Her family was her treasure.

Beverly was a member of the Mount Airy congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had served in many capacities through out the years but two of her favorite callings were working with the teens in the young women's program and then along with her husband, fellowshipping others. Her mantra to "Just Love the Youth" was reciprocated and they dearly loved her back. She loved to visit those unable to attend church to remind them of their value and to be sure they felt of the Savior's love for them through her. She took her responsibilities seriously and always wanted to do her best. No one could turn her away because she truly loved each individual she visited and never judged . Even with her chronic pain and challenging health problems, she always arrived early to church and shared a warm and welcoming word with others. Her love of her Savior and her faith was what sustained her through many trials. She rarely missed a day reading her scriptures or offering her personal prayers. Her life was filled with service to others.

She is survived by four children, Stephanie Quinn and husband Michael of Mount Airy, MD; Michele Bohm and husband Richard of Acworth, GA; Scott Kines and wife Jennifer of Little Rock, AR; and Heidi Carmack and husband Edward of Acworth, GA; sisters Gloria Poulsen (Eric) of Damascus and Janet Johnson (Eric) of Abbottstown, PA; sister-in-law, Jill Bullock of Woodbine, brother-in-law, Randolph Kines (Teresa) of Boonsboro; 14 grandchildren: Donald Quinn (Cassy), Christina Greenwood (Matthew), Brianna Carver (Torin), Linda Quinn, Jadon Quinn, Brandon Quinn, Dallin Quinn, William Quinn, Ammon Quinn, Kelsey Bohm, Preston Bohm, Cheney Carmack, Emma Carmack, Elijah Carmack; and 3 great grandchildren: Tanner Rivera, Mikel Orendac, Jr. and Camille Quinn. She is predeceased by her husband Michael R. Kines, brothers Ralph Edgar Woltz II and Douglas Randolph Woltz as well as both parents.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Friday, August 12, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 13, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7255 Ridge Road, Mount Airy, where a viewing will be held from 9-9:45 AM.
