Beulah Swope

Beulah Vandelia (Haupt) Swope, 97, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Golden Living Nursing Center in Hagerstown.
Born on August 29, 1914, in Washington County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Vandelia (Easterday) Haupt. She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Griffith and William "Buddy" Myers.
Beulah was previously a member at Mountain View Baptist Church and most recently attended services at Gateway Ministries in Williamsport, Maryland.
She had previously been an employee at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Beulah will be fondly remembered for her love of car rides, Mountaingate Restaurant, and playing bingo at Golden Living.
The family extends appreciation to the staff at Golden Living Center and Hospice of Washington County for their kind care and compassion.
She is survived by her faithful husband of twenty two years, Ralph L. Swope; five children, Temmie E. Myers and husband Whitey of Smithsburg, Maryland, Helen C. Crampton of Baltimore, Maryland, Betty J. Dagenhart and husband Mick of Alabama, Roger R. Griffith and friend Tina of Hagerstown, and Pauline M. Zepp and husband Richard of Keedysville, Maryland; sixteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several step-children and several nieces and nephews as well as her special friends Dave and Marge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Hines and Eva Hines Whipp; one brother, three sisters, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. Rodney Rhodes and Rev. Lynn Munson will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit beginning at 12 noon on Monday, January 30, 2012 at the funeral home where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
