Betty Lou (Simms) Fowler, 76, of Frederick, MD, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at her home.
Born on August 29, 1938, in Ijamsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mabel (Lyles) Simms.
Betty retired from Sears Roebuck in Frederick after thirty-five years of dedicated service.
She lived life to the fullest and loved being with her family, cooking, and traveling, especially to Aruba.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Bob Fowler, whom she married on August 5, 1988; her three sons, Jerry Dorsey and wife, Celeste, of New Market, MD, David Dorsey and wife, Lynn, of Gaithersburg, MD, and Michael Dorsey of Frederick; her four grandchildren, Jason Dorsey, Dominique Gilchrest, and Morgan and Jeremy Dorsey; and her four great-grandchildren, David, Tyler, Isabella Dorsey, and one on the way. She is also survived by her sisters, Mabel Scott, Ella Edwards, Betty Jean Dorsey, and Mary Scott; and her brother, Larry Scott.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sisters, Hilda Brown, Dolly Grey, Ethel Dorsey, Maude Grey; and her brothers, James and Andrew Simms.
A Celebration of Life in Betty's memory will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702. Rev. Harry Johnson will officiate.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
