Mrs. Betty J. ( Green ) Main, 73, of Walkersville, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Northampton Manor Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late James L. Main, Sr.
Born on January 7, 1934 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Norman H. and Evelyn L. (Moore) Green.
Mrs. Main was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walkersville. She was employed as a teller with Farmers and Mechanics, Walkersville, retiring in 1996 after many years of service. Previously she was employed with Cambridge Rubber Co. Betty was a member of the Democratic National Committee. She was an avid reader with a variety of interests, after her retirement she became proficient on the computer and enjoyed emailing her many friends.
Mrs. Main is survived by her son, Kevin W. Weddle and his wife Deborah K. Weddle of Walkersville; an aunt, Eloise C. Clem; an uncle, James Moore and his wife Anna, all of Frederick; dear friends, Bob and Angel Toms of Keymar; two step-children, James L. Main, Jr. of Walkersville and Mignetta Doody of Thurmont; and four step-grandchildren. Betty will also be missed by her cat Muffy.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Thursday, August 16, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Services:
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with her pastor, Rev. Mark L. Foucart officiating. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Honorary bearers will be Donald Crabbs, Robert Toms and Alvie Covell.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 19 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Walkersville, MD 21793
