Betty Wickham
March 27, 1929 — February 16, 2019
Betty Lee Wickham, 89, of Jefferson, passed away, with her daughters by her side, on Saturday, February 16, at Tranquillity At Fredericktowne. She was the wife of the late Floyd C. Wickham, who preceded her in death in 2010. Born on March 7, 1929, in Urbana, she was the daughter of the late Roy F. Myers and Alice Horman Myers.
Mrs. Wickham attended Urbana High School. She worked for 11 years at Frederick Tailoring company, until her daughter Brenda was born, and she became a stay at home mother to her three children.
Betty was a member of Petersville Luther Chapel. She enjoyed cleaning and cooking, dancing and mowing her lawn. Mrs. Wickham loved eating out - especially desserts and family gatherings. She enjoyed lunches with her friends from Brunswick and meeting the "Urbana Girls" once a month. Betty loved animals, and she will be missed dearly by her Lab, Ginger.
She is survived by daughters, Brenda W. Cunningham and husband David of Jacksonville, AL and Linda F. Morris and husband LeRoy of Jefferson, MD; grandsons: Todd Cunningham and wife Elizabeth of Charlotte, NC and Tyler Cunningham and wife Corie of Huntsville, AL; great-grandchildren Brenley and Talan Cunningham and a sister, Anna Mae Murphy. Mrs. Wickham is also survived by nieces and nephews: Marlene Riggan, Beverly True, Audie Murphy and Daryl Murphy.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Vicki Lee Wickham and Cinda M. Mossburg.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Tranquillity for the care provided to Mrs. Wickham in her last few months.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick. A celebration of Betty's life journey will take place on Tuesday, February 19 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home, Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Petersville.
