Betty Tracey

Betty L. Tracey, 82, formerly of Frederick, passed away on December 4, 2018 in Caribou, Maine. She was the wife of Donald E. Tracey. Born on November 9, 1936 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ida (Sykes) Kemp.
Betty graduated from Frederick High School, Class of 1954. She worked for Potomac Edison, Peoples Life and Monumental Life Insurance and worked at one time at the Dan Dee Restaurant. Betty enjoyed shopping.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Kimberly Pheobus and husband David of Frederick; grandchildren: Alyssa Pheobus Mumtaz and husband Murad of Williamstown, MA and Evan Pheobus and wife Emma of Catonsville, MD and a great-grandchild, Hadi Mumtaz. She is also survived by a brother, James Kemp of Florida; a sister-in-law, Elinor Tracey of Jefferson, MD; close family friends, Ted and Sally St. Pierre of Woodland and Barb May and husband Ray of Middletown. Betty will be missed by her beloved Yorkie, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Fritz and Jane Snyder.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 4H Therapeutic Riding Program, 11515 Angleberger Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
A committal service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the mausoleum of Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
