Betty Jean Swomley

Betty "Jean" Swomley, 82, died April 16, 2025. Jean was born December 24, 1942, in Baltimore, MD and was the daughter of the late Wesley W. and Cecil M. Hudson of Baltimore, MD.

She was the wife of C. Wayne Swomley of Frederick, MD. She was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren and the past President of the FSK American Legion Auxiliary Unit 11. She loved all animals, especially her Poodle Amber. She enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles.

During her early years she was a Real Estate agent, and a Real Estate Appraiser. She later worked for State Farm Insurance and retired from Frederick Memorial Hospital. In addition to her devoted husband, Jean is survived by her son Steven Beauchamp of Vista, CA, daughters, Dana (Tom) of Westminster, MD and Shannon (Mariano) of Westminster, MD. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Ivana, Camila, and Norah, of Westminster, MD.

She was preceded in death by her son, Scott A. Kemp, and her sister Brenda Gillespie.

There will be no viewing, as Jean chose to be cremated. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Swomley's name to Hospice of Frederick County, 1 Frederick Health Way, Frederick, MD 21701, or to the FSK American Legion Axiliary Unit 11, 1450 Taney Avenue, Frederick, MD 21702.
