Betty J. Shorb

Betty J. Shorb, 88, of Thurmont, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at home on Friday, June 21, 2024. Betty was born December 12, 1935, in, to the late Earl Smith, and Mary Smith-Fogle. 

Betty worked for many years at Claire Frock Company until its closing, and then she went to work at R.R. Donnelly until her retirement at almost eighty years old. She enjoyed working, and the many friends that she made along the way. 

Betty is survived by her daughter; Linda Coblentz and her husband Dave, sons; Terry “Huck” Davis and wife Misty, and Joe Davis, grandchildren; Ginger, David, Shannon, Chasity, Cory, Joey, John, Kristi, Dale, and Robby, along with numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, that she loved dearly. Betty is also survived by her sister; Linda Redmond, and husband Larry. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Shorb, son; Robert Davis, and siblings; Mary, Shirley, and Charles. 

Thank you to Heartfields at Frederick and all their employees in memory care for their help with Betty. Thank you to Nurse Lauren, from hospice for all of the care and assistance that she gave Betty, and to nurse Lori also from hospice for her help during Betty's final days. A special thank you to Jenny and Tracey for all the care they gave Betty.

 A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Weller United Methodist Church Cemetery, 101 N Altamont Ave, Thurmont, MD 21788. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to Weller United Methodist Church, 101 N Altamont Ave, Thurmont, MD 21788. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at StaufferFuneralHome.com.
