Betty Andrews Lerch, of Charles Town, West Virginia, formerly of Rohrersville, MD passed from this life on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Greenfield Assisted Living in Berryville, Virginia.
She was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, to Sigmund Andrews and Catherine Springer Andrews, who preceded her in death.
She was the wife of the late Harry Lerch, Jr., her husband of 45 years.
She served as the postmaster in Rohrersville for 23 years. She was a longtime member of the Eastern Star, Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, and Rohrersville Ruritan. Betty's passion were for her pets and her family. She also enjoyed gardening and she loved to bake.
She is survived by her son, Harry (Terry) Lerch and his wife Marcia; her daughter, Anna (Kathy) Lerch; granddaughters, Jennifer Lerch and Melissa Herbert and her husband Desmond.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William (Billy) and Sigmund (Buddy) Andrews.
The family will receive friends at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 6-8 p.m.
A celebration of Betty's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery at Locust Grove in Rohrersville, Maryland.
