Mrs. Betty Lou Leithliter, 83, much loved mom and grandma, passed away on January 14,2013, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the wife of the late James E. Leithliter.
She was raised on a farm in Plainview, Texas, which gave her a life-long love of the
outdoors. Betty was a proud graduate of Texas Tech University and spent many happy years teaching sixth grade in Lancaster, California before retiring and moving to Maryland. Her last years were spent enjoying her friends in Frederick, Maryland, and visiting with her family and grandchildren. Throughout her life Betty loved politics (and arguing about them), studying history, and enjoying walks, movies and books. She loved kids in general, and especially her grandkids. Those that knew Betty well knew that she was always the life of the party, and that there was never a dull moment to be had while in her company.
Betty is survived by her children, Beverly O'Brallaghan, Pamela Smallcomb, Larry Kyle McLooney,
son-in-law Richard Smallcomb, and grandchildren Christopher, Amelia, Alexander, Caitlin, Patrick and Lucas Smallcomb. They will all miss her very much.
