Betty Ebersole

Betty Jane (Fraley) Ebersole, 81, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Broadmore Senior Living in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born on April 6, 1934, in Jefferson County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James Oscar and Zelda Tresa (Jones) Fraley.  Her husband, Dennis M. Ebersole, preceded her in death on January 24, 2015.

Betty retired in 1997 from the Maryland Ribbon Company, where she worked for 28 years as a returns clerk.

She was a member of Samples Manor Church of God.

She is survived by two children, Deborah J. Martz and Dennis L. Ebersole and wife Vicki, all of Sharpsburg; and four grandchildren, Tara Martz-Herr and husband Chris Herr, William Howard, Joshuah Ebersole, Justin Ebersole and fiancée Shannon Connelly. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Linda M.  Howard; two sisters, Claudette K. Merriman and Nancy L. Stottlemyer; and three brothers, Vincent W., Ronald W., and Phillip G. Fraley; one brother-in-law, Richard Ebersole.

A graveside funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Samples Manor Cemetery, 2128 Harpers Ferry Road in Sharpsburg.  The service will be officiated by Mr. Joseph Goetz.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

Memorial donations may be made to the Human Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, Maryland, 21740; or to Samples Manor Church of God, Post Office Box 424, Sharpsburg, Maryland, 21782; or Hospice of Washington County,747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
