Betty Ecton

Betty Lorraine (Stull) Ecton, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2019 with her family by her side. She was under the care of Hospice of Washington County.
Born on May 11, 1937 to the late William and Alma (Daisy) Early Stull. She was a graduate of Smithsburg High School, class of 1955. She worked as a nurses aide for many years at Reeders and Ravenwood nursing home. She loved gardening and country music. Her favorite singer was Alan Jackson. Her family was her life.
She is survived by her husband, Clement Atlee Ecton of Hagerstown, MD; sister, Dorothy (Stull) Miles of Baltimore, MD and son, William Atlee Ecton of Mercersburg, PA. Four daughters, Lisa G. (Ecton) Netz and husband Mike of Greencastle, PA, Lori A (Ecton) Callihan of Hagerstown, MD, Kathy L (Ecton) Ragland and husband Robert of Falling Waters, WV, Jeanne M. (Ecton) Dayhoff and husband John of Falling Waters, WV. Ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, lots of nieces and nephews.+
She was preceded in death by three grandsons, Shaun Netz, Cody Callihan and Christopher Ecton; three granddaughters, Crystal Netz, April Whitford and Jennifer Dayhoff; two sisters, Pauline (Stull) Mallott and Mary Lewis; daughter-in-law, Tina H (Myers) Ecton; brother, William Stull; and half-brother, Paul Stull.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Boonsboro Cemetery.
