Betty Ebersole

June 11, 1929 — August 15, 2014

Betty L. (Jackson) Ebersole, 85, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 15, 2014, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland, with her daughter by her side.

Born on June 11, 1929, in Pinesburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Albert T. and Florence F. (Hose) Jackson.

She attended the Pinesburg Schools.

Betty was formerly employed by Londontown Manufacturing in Boonsboro, where she worked for fourteen years as a coat examiner.

She was a member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Auxiliary Post 10 of Boonsboro.

Betty will fondly be remembered for her love of cooking and baking, especially her baking of chocolate peanut butter and red velvet cakes.

Betty is survived by her husband, Leonard R. Ebersole, whom she married on May 30, 1947; her daughter, Judy A. Nalley of Boonsboro; her two sisters, Shirley and Miriam McCauley, both of Pinesburg; and her two brothers, Richard and Merle Jackson, both of Pinesburg; her granddaughter, Shannon Kain; and her great-granddaughter, Evelyn Kain. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Leonard R. Ebersole, Jr; her four sisters, Dorothea Smallwood, Amanda Jackson, Carrie Linderman, and Clare Maloy;  her two brothers, Walter and Lewis Jackson; and her son-in-law, Gary Nalley, Sr.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  Rev.  Jack C. Payne, Jr. will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Samples Manor Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014, at the funeral home.
