Mrs. Bertha Marion Huggins Burke, 92 of Frederick passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Kline Hospice House.
She was born July 16, 1919 and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. In Baltimore she met her husband, the late Edgar James Burke who passed away September 2005. They were married for 66 years.
In February 2004 she moved to Frederick to be closer to her son and her family.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Burke and wife Margaret and Roger Burke and wife Linda, six grandchildren, Doug, Denny, Michelle, Vicki, Sommer, Alycia, nine great grandchildren, Andrew, Chelsea, Jasper, Kaleb, Charisma, Layla, Madison, Ryan and Chad.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, October 2
nd
from 7:00-9:00PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 3
rd
at 10:00AM with Rev. Tim May officiating.
Interment will be in Meadowridge Cemetery, Elkridge, Maryland. Pallbearers will be Douglas Burke, Dennis Burke, Hans Darvish, Jeffrey Naylor, Amir Mostafavi and Michael Burant.
