Berniece K. Henneberger, 83, of Hagerstown, went to be with the Lord, peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, Nov. 6.
She was the wife of William Henneberger.
Born on Feb. 1, 1934, in Coseytown, Pa., she was the daughter of Ira Burkett and Margaret (Rice) Burkett.
Mrs. Henneberger was a supervisor at London Fog in Boonsboro, Md., for many years.
She married her forever love, William Henneberger, on March 9, 1979.
Berniece was a member of Smithsburg (Md.) Valley Church; and, she loved to spend time with her Yorkie, Shadow.
She loved sewing, cooking, taking pictures, gardening, shopping, cuddling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Berniece is survived by children, Diane Swope and husband, Terry, Darin Sweeney and wife, Sabrina, Amy Henneberger, and Jamey Henneberger and wife, Flora; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also is survived by sisters, Ruth Saum, Peggy Jenkins, Naomi Mullins, Lois Souders, Joy Canoles and Dodie Clemons; and a brother, David Rice.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Henneberger was preceded in death by sisters, Maye Wilson Martin, Betty Drake and Ora Rice Hupfer.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Smithsburg Valley Baptist Church, 12911 Bikle Road, Smithsburg. The Rev. Allen Youngbar will officiate. Private interment will be in Boonsboro Cemetery, Boonsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Smithsburg Valley Church, 12911 Bikle Road, Smithsburg, MD 21783; or Tabitha's Table Food Bank, P.O. Box 218, Smithsburg, MD 21783.
