Bernie Flickinger

Mr. Bernie Flickinger, 59, of Woodsboro died on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Mary L. Flickinger.

Born on January 5, 1949 in Gettysburg, PA. he was the son of Doris J. Angell Flickinger of Taneytown and the late Emory Leroy Flickinger.

Bernie was an avid coin collector, and he enjoyed being an umpire for county softball, NASCAR and bowling. He worked for over 20 years for the Werres Corporation in Frederick. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed his time spent with his children, grandchildren and family.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are children William Flickinger and wife Susan of Gettysburg, Wesley Flickinger of Silver Spring, Donald Flickinger and wife Darlene of Libertytown, Robert Timothy Wetzel and Melissa Wetzel both of Emmitsburg and Roy Smith III of Woodsboro. Fourteen grandchildren. Brother Larry Flickinger of Taneytown and Dr. Linda Burgee and husband Bruce of Frederick. Special niece Betsy Moore. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call on Friday, April 18, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 19, at 11:00am in the Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Andy Aaron will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
