Mr. Bernard R. {Bud} Mazurowski, 80, of Monrovia departed this world to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at his residence.
He was the husband of Alice Michaloski Mazurowski, they would have celebrated their 58th Anniversary on November 5.
Born on July 18, 1927 in Nanticoke, PA he was the son of the late Boleslaw and Apollinia Malinowski Mazurowski.
Bud retired from AT&T Long Lines with the Presidential Group in 1982. An accomplished artist, he then became an active member of the Delaplaine Art Center in Frederick. Bud also volunteered with the Vita Program in preparing tax returns and later loved his trips to the Mt. Airy Senior Center. Mr. Mazurowski served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy SEEBEES and participated at age 17 in the Battle of Okinawa during WWII and again during the Korean War in North Africa and Naples, Italy. He was a member of American Legion Gold Star Post, 191 in Mt. Airy and of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Libertytown.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Steve Mazurowski and wife Therese of Farmington Hills, MI.; 3 granddaughters: Alana, Shannon and Maura Mazurowski; a sister, Marion Beasley of Indiana as well as several nieces and nephews. On of 9 children, Bud was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Sunday, September 30, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 1, at St. Peter's Parrish Center, Libertytown with Msgr. John A. Dietzenbach as Celebrant.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 278,Libertytown, Md. 21762.
