Bernard "Bub" Crawford

Bernard E. "Bub" Crawford , 83, of Walkersville passed from this life on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Glade Valley Nursing & Rehab Center, Walkersville. He was the husband of the late Joyce Whitehead Crawford who died in 2010.

Born on July 22, 1934, in Urbana he was the son of  the late Edgar S., Sr. and Ethel Schwartz Crawford.

He grew up in Adamstown and was a 1954 graduate of Frederick High School. Bernard was a lineman for Potomac Edison for more than 35 years. He also worked for Frederick County Public Schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bub was a member of both Walkersville Volunteer Fire Dept. and  Carroll Manor Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and was a Baltimore Orioles fan. Bub will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather.

Surviving are two children: Mike Crawford and wife Jenny of Walkersville and Kathy Marshall and husband John of Woodsboro; three grandchildren: Katy Crawford, Rachel Crawford and Adam Marshall.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 7, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville.

A celebration of Bub's life journey will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 8, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Glade Cemetery,   Walkersville.
