Bernard Anthony {Tony} Kelly, Sr.

Mr. Bernard Tony' Kelly, Sr. 60 of Thurmont, Maryland passed away on August 27, 2008 at home with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diane Miller Kelly.

Born December 25, 1947 in Gettysburg, Pa .he was the son of the late Bernard Norbert and Margaret Shields Kelly.

Tony was employed by Mount St. Mary's University, Emmitsburg campus as a Lt. in the Public Safety Department. He was a member of the Son's of the Amvet's Post 7, Thurmont., the VFW canteen in Emmitsburg and Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Emmitsburg MD.

He is also survived by two children, a daughter Stacy A. Long and husband Jeremy of Woodsboro, Md, son Tony Kelly Jr. and friend Courtney of Thurmont. Three Grandchildren, Patrick M. Kolb Jr and Fiance Lindsey Harbaugh, Christopher A. Kelly and Fiance Maggie Lawrence and Laken Grossnickle Long all of Thurmont. His number two Susan Ott of Emmitsburg . A sister Patricia Sweeney and husband Elmer of Thurmont and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

He was proceeded in death by a sister and brother- in- law MaryAnn Glass and husband Sonny, a niece Christina Glass and nephew Francis Patrick Glass all of Taneytown, Md.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Friday, August 29, from 1 -9 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 1 -4 and 7 - 9 p.m.. There will be a wake service at 8:00 p.m. with Father Jack Lombardi.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, St. Anthony's Road, Emmitsburg, MD with Father Paul Redmond as celebrant. Interment Mount Saint Mary's Cemetery.
