Bernard Manning "Bernie" Ganley, 73, of Porterstown Road, Keedysville, died Monday, December 1, 2008 at his home.
Born October 4, 1935 in Boyds, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Nettie Schwartzbeck Ganley.
He retired from the Montgomery County Board of Education as a bus driver.
He was a member of the Maryland Nite Hunters Association.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, , Ruth E. Everett Ganley; one stepson, Thomas A. Webb of Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Gertrude White of Germantown, Md.; two brothers, Joseph M. Ganley of Germantown and Donald Ganley of Ijamsville, Md.; three step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Kolesar, Mary Maughlin, Agnes Gay and Bernardine Tennenberg; and one brother, Edward H. Ganley.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barnesville, MD. Fr. Kevin P. O'Reilly will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro.
