Benjamin (Ben) William Boehl, 38, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life suddenly on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
Born on January 4, 1982, he was the son of Frances (Gore) Boehl and the late Lawrence Carl Boehl.
Ben was an apprentice plumber and welder. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, council #14011 and volunteered at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church and at the Olson House. He loved watching football and spending time with his friends, family and his dog, Waffles.
Although it is not believed that Ben's death was drug related, those who knew Ben were aware that he struggled for many years with addiction. Over the past couple of years, he was able to overcome his addiction and began rebuilding his life. We were very proud of how he was able to reconnect with family and friends and establish himself with a good job, loving girlfriend and stable home.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Boehl; siblings, Matthew Charles Boehl and wife, Kara, Alicia Katryn Boehl, Lauren Deyo and husband, Robert and Rachel Lee
Chase and husband, Dan; girlfriend, Christina Spadacino, nieces and nephews, Joshua, Abbigale, Kassidy, Kasey, James, Faith, Kearstin, Gabriella and Leahbelle; uncle, Jack Boehl and wife, Debbie; aunts, Mary Carol Barszcz, Maggie Boehl and Andrea Boehl. He is also survived by many dear friends and his faithful companion, Waffles.
A celebration of Benjamin's life will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 11:00 am.
